#Little #Smokies #Wrapped in #Bacon
These little smokies wrapped in bacon have been one of my favorite appetizers since I was a kid! Smoked sausages wrapped in crispy bacon covered with sticky brown sugar. An easy recipe for the holidays!
When my mother gave me the recipe for the first time, it was nothing more than vague indications on a sheet of paper.
There are only three ingredients in these addictive appetizers, but the first time I made them myself, they weren't as good as hers.
So I went back and asked her for her secrets and I'm sharing them with you for the BEST smoked little bacon wrapped in brown sugar!
Start by cutting the bacon in thirds. If you leave the strips longer, they will never crunch.
There may be a few pieces of bacon left. Its good!
Cook it and keep it to add to an omelet in the morning or use it in another appetizer like goat log with bacon or jalapeƱo cream cheese dip.
How to make little smokies with brown sugar
Wrap a piece of bacon around a small smoked and place it in a pan. No need to fix with a toothpick, just place it down.
The pan you use makes a big difference. I asked my mom how she did it and she said she was using a glass baking dish, not a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.
To clean up afterwards, she fills the pan with hot tap water and lets it sit for a few minutes. The caramelized sugar dissolves.
Once all the sausages are wrapped in bacon, sprinkle with brown sugar.
A smaller pan works well for this, so the sugar ends up on top of the sausages and not between the cracks and the rows.
After adding the sugar, cover and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours. They can be cooked right away if you want, but they come out 10 times better if you wait!
